What's the difference between smart blinds and motorized blinds?
Every smart blind is a motorized blind. Smart blinds add a small hub that connects the motor to your Wi-Fi, so you can use an app, voice control and schedules. Motorized blinds without a hub run from a remote or wall switch.
Do smart blinds work with Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home?
Yes. Our smart blinds work with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home, so you can use Siri too. We'll match the motor and hub to the system you already use.
Do I need a hub?
Yes. A small hub plugs in near your router and connects your blinds to your Wi-Fi. One hub usually covers the whole home.
Do smart blinds work without Wi-Fi?
The remote and wall switch do, because they talk to the motor directly. The app, voice control and schedules need Wi-Fi, and pick up again as soon as it's back.
Can smart blinds open and close on a schedule?
Yes. Set times for each blind or room, or tie them to sunrise and sunset so they follow the seasons. That matters in Edmonton, where daylight runs from about 7 hours in December to 17 in June.
Can smart blinds react to the sun or temperature?
Yes, with a sun or temperature sensor. The blinds lower when the afternoon sun heats a room and rise again as it cools, which helps keep south- and west-facing rooms comfortable.

Often, yes. We add a motor to the blind and connect it to a hub. Our motorized blinds page explains which blinds can take a motor.
Are smart blinds safe for kids and pets?
Yes. There are no cords or chains, and you can move every blind from the app without anyone reaching the window.
How much do smart blinds cost?
Every blind is custom-made, so the price depends on the blind, its size, the motor, the hub and how many windows you're doing. Measuring, installation and setup are included, and you'll get a written quote at your free in-home consult.
What warranty do smart blinds come with?
Motors carry the manufacturer's warranty: 5 years for Somfy and 2 years for Ronco. The blind itself is covered by our lifetime warranty, with 3 years on fabrics.
Do you install smart blinds outside Edmonton?
